Seiya Wakahara Awarded CHS Graduate Fellowship

Seiya Wakahara, a PhD student in the Land and Atmospheric Science (LAAS) program at the University of Minnesota, was awarded the prestigious CHS Graduate Fellowship on November 30, 2021. The fellowship, established in 2002, honors exceptional graduate students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) and provides a $25,000 stipend, tuition credits, and additional benefits. Advised by Dr. Yuxin Miao, Seiya’s research focuses on integrated precision nitrogen and water management in potato production, aiming to improve tuber yield, resource use efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
