Last week, it was our honor to welcome high school students and chaperones from across Minnesota as part of the Pay It Forward program. Our researchers, Renzo Negrini and Nicholas Brand, led engaging sessions on the importance of agriculture, the legacy of Dr. Norman Borlaug, the history of our Precision Agriculture Center, and how precision ag and on-farm research are shaping solutions for global challenges.
One chaperone shared that we “opened doors wider and went deeper” than any visit they’d experienced—reinforcing that true education is not just about sharing knowledge, but igniting inspiration.
At the Precision Agriculture Center, we are proud to serve as ambassadors for this transformative field. Our mission extends beyond research—it’s about empowering the next generation to take these innovations further than we ever could.
A special thanks to Mary Buschette and CFANS for the invitation. It is always a privilege to represent the University of Minnesota and to share the values of innovation, purpose, and stewardship that define our work.
Together, we are cultivating the future.
