Precision Agriculture Center Shines at ASA Tri Societies Conference

This November, members of the Precision Agriculture Center at the University of Minnesota made a significant impact at the ASA Tri Societies Conference. Representing innovation and excellence in agricultural research, team members Yuxin Miao, Renzo Negrini, Ayoub Kechchour, and others shared groundbreaking studies addressing some of the most pressing challenges in agronomy, crop science, and soil science.

The ASA Tri Societies Conference, hosted annually by the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America, serves as a premier platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. This year's event emphasized “AI Innovations for a Changing Climate,” drawing researchers, professionals, and students from across the globe.

Team Presentations at the Conference:

  • Dr. Yuxin Miao presented on “An Innovative and Practical Remote Sensing-Based In-Season Site-Specific Nitrogen Management Strategy for Corn,” showcasing a cutting-edge approach to optimizing nitrogen use in agriculture.
  • Renzo Negrini delivered insights on “Identifying Key Factors Influencing Corn Responses to Sulfur Fertilizer Application Under On-Farm Conditions Using Machine Learning,” leveraging data science to enhance fertilizer efficiency.
  • Ayoub Kechchour discussed “Precision Irrigation and Nitrogen Management for Enhancing Water and Nitrogen Use Efficiency,” a timely topic given global water resource challenges.

Each presentation demonstrated the Precision Agriculture Center's commitment to integrating science and technology to improve agricultural sustainability and efficiency.
